Topdrive Drillers Australia Pty Ltd provides contract Diamond Drilling services to the Mining and Minerals Industry in Australia.
Established in 1976, Topdrive has a rich history of working with clients to achieve their drilling objectives.
Core recovery and presentation are major priorities, and Topdrive use only the very best equipment to achieve top quality core samples.
Topdrive Drillers can undertake PQ, HQ, and NQ drilling, also offering services in mud rotary, large diameter coring and wedging or directional work.
Boasting a complete set of support equipment, Topdrive Drillers ensures that all remote drilling sites are completely self-sufficient. Their extensive list of support equipment includes mobile workshops, support trucks and a fully-equipped site office/lighting towers.
With experienced management and staff, Topdrive Drillers is committed to providing a safe, environmentally conscious service to their valued clients.
STEVE DAVIS
Director of Operations
Steve Davis has over 40 years experience in the Drilling Industry, with international experience in countries such as Malaysia and Chile as well as his local experience in Australia. He established Topdrive Drillers Australia with his wife Valerie in 1976, completing projects throughout Western Australia, Canning Basin and the Northern Territory for numerous organisations.
Working as an owner operator has given Steve the necessary skills and experience to understand the Drilling Industry as a qualified trade professional as well as a business owner.
Steve holds a Senior First Aid Certificate as well as his Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, and is committed to ensuring the company’s safety policies and procedures are adhered to. He remains heavily invested in the day-to-day running of the business, and specialises in rig operations.
PETER MILNER
Managing Director
With a background in business administration and advising, Peter is responsible for Topdrive Drillers’ strategic direction, business development and quality assurance.
Peter’s corporate background highlights his sharp business acumen. He established the company Post Data in 1983, proceeding to develop it into one of the leading outsource service providers in Western Australia. After growing Post Data into a multi-million dollar enterprise, Peter sold Post Data to an ASX listed company in 2004, and joined Topdrive Drillers after his subsequent planned exit strategy.
Peter is a passionate philanthropist, and enjoys giving back to the community by contributing his time to industry bodies and charities.
CHRIS INDERMAUR
Chris has extensive experience in large Australian companies in Engineering or Commercial roles. Amongst these roles he was the Engineering and Contracts Manager for the QNI Nickel Refinery at Yabulu, Company Secretary for QAL and General Manager for Strategy and Development at Alinta Ltd.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Chemical) from the West Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University). Chris also holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
Chris is also the Chariman of the Credo advisory panel as well as a Director for Poseidon Nickel, also the Chairman of Poseidon’s Governance and Remuneration committees. He joined the Topdrive Drillers Australia advisory board in September 2010.
ANDREW LANE
Andrew is currently the Managing Director of an accounting firm, Matrix Partners. He specialises in the areas of taxation and has professional expertise in strategic planning and business consultancy.
Andrew’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Business from ECU, the Certified Practising Accountants Programme from Deakin University and is a holder of a Public Practice Certificate. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants and a Fellow Member of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Over the last 25 years Andrew has had considerable experience in public practice and during this time he has offered consultancy advice to a wide range of corporate businesses. He also has experience as a Company Secretary of an ASX Listed Company.
Andrew has previously held non-executive Director Positions for private companies, he continues to sit on various advisory boards. Andrew also joined the Topdrive Drillers Australia advisory board in September 2010.
BOB BLAKISTON
Bob joined Topdrive Drillers Australia as General Manager with a view to increasing quality and service delivery within the drilling and exploration sector of WA’s mining and resources industry for Topdrive’s valued clients.
Bob served as Managing Director of SunPower’s residential and commercial business operations (a Nasdaq listed company: SPWRA) and was responsible for driving sales, fulfillment and service for the Australian residential and commercial markets. He has more than 25 years of business experience successfully driving improved financial performance, developing and executing integrated strategies, building robust sales teams, and leveraging growth. Blakiston’s diverse business background includes leading sales and customer service divisions for ASX 200 companies and small private commercial organizations. Blakiston served as CEO for Solar Sales since 2006 where he was responsible for introduction of corporate governance, restructuring the business operations for growth and respective P&L activities, prior to its acquisition by SunPower in 2008. Blakiston also held senior executive positions at Post Data 8 years (Peter Milner Company), Johnson Harper (a former member of the Bond Brewing group) 11 years.
Blakiston was awarded Life membership in 1996 for his contributions to the Australian Institute of Credit Management where he served as both state and national presidents. He is the immediate past chairman of the Sustainable Energy Association of Australia where he served from 2008 until 2011.
