Health and Safety

Safety is our first value and number one priority and we focus on building safety leadership and a culture that empowers each person to look out for their mates. We strive to be an employer of choice and implement programs and incentives to attract, develop, challenge and retain our people. 

Our safety culture is built from the ground up, with all drilling team members required to uphold the highest standards. In 2019, we introduced the HSE Integrated Management System. These programs focus on building strong safety culture and leadership capability through the line management. To foster this safety culture, we work with industry and regulatory leaders to maintain the highest standards of education, coaching, training, monitoring and reporting. 2022 goals & objectives are to obtain AS 4801 accreditation.

 

Environment

We work in remote locations and sensitive environments. Our commitment to understanding and mitigating the risks and impacts our clients operations may pose to the environment extends from the very beginning of a drilling program to the  operation’s life.

Topdrive Drillers  takes a precautionary approach to environmental challenges and continues to invest in initiatives and technologies that minimise our environmental impacts and contribute to sustainable environmental benefits. The success of our environmental management benefits not only our Clients but also our families, our communities and our future generations. 2022 goals & objectives are to obtain ISO 14001 accreditation.

Wellbeing

The physical and mental health of our employees and is a key focus. In 2020, we developed our Mental Health and Wellbeing program which provides the framework for how we support the health and wellbeing of our family.

We have also undertaken a Mental Health Risk Assessment which focuses on preventative controls to protect the mental health of our workforce and reactive controls to help manage and support recovery after a mental health incident. This risk assessment was developed in consultation with the management team and drilling teams offers support to all employees and their families. Additionally, our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers 24/7 support via professional counselling services for employees and their families.
